Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?
This is a common concern that many clients have before they begin their laser hair removal journey. More traditional laser hair removal methods might have been a tad uncomfortable, but the Moveo handpiece offers our clients a virtually pain-free solution. We recommend this handpiece for two sessions, before moving to the zappier standard laser. We use ice packs and cool gel to cool the areas making it easily tolerable.
Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?
Using the Moveo handpiece attached to our Motus AY, we deliver concentrated bursts of laser energy to the hair follicles in the treatment area. The hair follicles which are in their active growth stage absorb this energy as heat which travels down the pigment of the hair to the follicle which is the target. The heat damages the follicle and decreases the follicle’s ability to grow back. After multiple treatments, some follicles can be rendered dormant.
What Does Laser Hair Removal Feel Like?
Traditionally laser hair removal feels like the snap of an elastic band against the skin, sounds a little unpleasant doesn’t it?
The Motus AY uses a sapphire cooling tip to soothe the surface of the skin during treatment to help protect against any uncomfortable sensations, burns, and pigmentation changes. The system uses different wavelengths to gradually heat up the skin to a temperature that damages the hair follicles to reduce and eliminate hair regrowth without harming the surrounding tissue.

How Many Treatments Does It Take?
We recommend booking a minimum of 6 sessions to secure long-lasting hair reduction and effective results. Your body hair goes through a resting and growth cycle, the treatment is only effective on hairs that are in their growth stage, and not all the hairs in your treatment area will be growing at the same time. To achieve the best results consult with your practitioner as you go.
How soon after my test patch can I start laser hair removal treatment?

I have a mixture of hair colour, including some white hair, will laser hair removal be effective for me?
In short, NO. Laser hair removal is generally most effective on individuals with darker hair and lighter skin because the laser targets the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicles. The contrast between dark hair and light skin allows the laser to more effectively heat and damage the hair follicles, inhibiting future hair growth.
However, laser hair removal may not be as effective on light-coloured hair, such as white or gray hair, as the laser energy may not be absorbed well by the lighter pigments. White or gray hair lacks the melanin that the laser targets.
How do I remove my hair in between treatments if I need to?
You need to shave in between treatments and for 4 weeks before treatment. You cannot wax, pluck, or use hair removal cream.
Should I Do Anything To My Hair Before I Have Laser Hair Removal Treatment?
